This week we embark upon the remembrance of the ultimate sacrifice and demonstration of love made for us as people, Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. I’m eternally grateful for His love, His grace, and His mercy. We are SO underserving of it all, yet He continues to show favor to us! What an awesome privilege it is to be loved by Him!
The words of a man named Josiah come to mind in reflecting on these things… “Jesus didn’t die so we could live how we want. He died so that we can live for Him. He died so that His grace would empower us to live for Him. Grace makes us His child, but our obedience releases His blessings. He saved us, not just from something, but He saved us FOR something… purpose!”
How are we living our life for our purpose? How are we taking the grace we’ve been given, and continually receive, to carry out the purpose and destiny over our life? Are we giving back to God what He has given to us? I, personally, can't wake up every morning, knowing all that God gave for me to have life and not challenge myself to give my life back to Him.
"But He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed." -Isaiah 53:5
"In view of God's mercy, I plead with you to present your body a living sacrifice, Holy and acceptable... Do not conform to this world, but be transformed into a new person..." -Romans 12:1-2
The salvation is free, but transformation will cost you…
