Last night was the OTRII concert. Cleveland was the first stop on the American leg of the tour. I was really excited for this concert and had pretty good seats in my opinion. Though, I must say I was a bit disappointed.
I had been thinking all summer, they must be coming out with new music because I can’t see them having a tour using the same music and routines they JUST did tours with, not to mention Coachella was literally 3 months ago. So when “Everything is Love” came out, I was like, “Okay… I was right.” I figured they would be doing their new music on this tour and then mixing in the old stuff. I was wrong.
There was 30secs of Apesh*t performed as they were saying their thanks yous and goodnight. That was it! This was where my disappointment came in. I felt like I had seen this concert before. I wasn’t present for the first OTR, but I watched the DVD. I was on the second row of the Formation tour concert. I saw them together when they came to Cleveland for the Hillary Clinton rally in 2016. I went to the 444 concert this past November, and I saw the Coachella concert live. OTRII was a legit combination of everything I just mentioned. The visuals were new and the wardrobe of course, but that was it.
I’m a fan of both of them, and I support just about anything Beyonce does. She’s been my favorite artist since Destiny’s Child FIRST came on the scene. But I will say I was very disappointed with this concert. If you’ve never seen her live, or Jay for that matter, definitely check it out. They ALWAYS put on a great show. However, if you’ve seen the shows I’ve mentioned, don’t get your hopes up that this one will be any different.
